Healthy States Create Healthy Unions
Colorado deserves a mental wellness system that works when people need it—not weeks later. If you or someone you love has ever struggled to find help, you know the system isn’t working the way it should. Too many people are waiting weeks for care, emergency rooms and law enforcement are overwhelmed, and families are left to figure it out on their own. This isn’t political—it’s personal, and no one in Colorado should feel alone in their hardest moment.
My plan is simple: build a system that actually works. I will establish 24/7 Crisis & Wellness Centers across every region of Colorado, giving people immediate, local access to care in safe, community-based environments. This means faster crisis response, trained de-escalation teams, and support that meets people where they are—without over-relying on emergency rooms or law enforcement.
We will also focus on prevention, not just reaction by expanding early intervention, trauma recovery, and education programs, along with stronger support for youth, families, veterans, and first responders. When we invest in people early, we reduce long-term suffering and create stronger, healthier communities.
We don’t need to reinvent the wheel—we can learn from top-performing states like Massachusetts and Hawaii, which lead the nation through early access to care, community-based systems, and integrated services. By bringing these proven approaches to Colorado—and improving on them—we can build a model that truly serves the people.
Because when mental wellness improves, everything improves—safer communities, lower addiction rates, reduced healthcare costs, stronger families, and a more productive, connected Colorado. This is how we move forward: putting people first and building a system that works for everyone.
